Shakespeare Theatre Company The Taming of the Shrew Sidney Harman Hall 610 F St, NW, Washington, DC 202.547.1122 Free!
Host: Mike |
The Shakespeare Theatre Company's Free For All is a much-loved Washington tradition, offering free performances of a Shakespearean classic to the general public. With The Taming of the Shrew, Shakespeare gives us the improbable courtship of the fiery-tongued Katherine by the arrogant Petruchio. But unlike Shakespeare's other romantic comedies, the play does not stop with the wedding. Shakespeare considers the institution of marriage, the rifts between men and women and the rough journey toward love. One of Shakespeare's earliest and most popular comedies, the Taming of the Shrew bursts with disguise, deception and devilment. Tickets are subject to availability and are distributed started 2 hours before the performance. RSVP to Mike by Thursday, Sept 1 at mike1521@aol.com or 202.543.7409 Directions: Gallery Place-Chinatown station (Red, Yellow and Green Lines) Use the Arena/7th St exit. Harman Hall is visible one block to your left) Judiciary Square Station (Red line) F Street exit to the National Building Museum, turn left and walk 1.5 blocks along F Street to 6th Street. |

Skeet is also an Olympic sport. Our host is Mike, who will show you how to do it. We will be shooting low powered shot gun shells, and there isn't much "kick." If you don't have a shotgun, it can be rented at the center. RSVP Mike by Saturday, Sept 26, 9 PM.
