The Shakespeare Theatre Company's Free For All is a much-loved Washington tradition, offering free performances of a Shakespearean classic to the general public.

With The Taming of the Shrew, Shakespeare gives us the improbable courtship of the fiery-tongued Katherine by the arrogant Petruchio.  But unlike Shakespeare's other romantic comedies, the play does not stop with the wedding.  Shakespeare considers the institution of marriage, the rifts between men and women and the rough journey toward love.  One of Shakespeare's earliest and most popular comedies, the Taming of the Shrew bursts with disguise, deception and devilment.

Tickets are subject to availability and are distributed started 2 hours before the performance.

Join host Emily for a wonderful day exploring the historic Hillwood mansion and fabulous gardens.

The Georgian-style mansion, designed by John Deibert in 1926, was originally build for Mrs. Henry Parsons Erwin.  In decorating Hillwood, Marjorie Merriwather Post hired the New York architect Alexander McIlvaine to redesign and expand the old mansion completely so that visitors could view her by-now extensive collection with greater ease.

Skeet is a recreational and competitive activity where paricipants attempt to break clay disks flung into the air at high speed from a variety of angles (we'll be using a skeet gun).  Skeet is also an Olympic sport.  Our host is Mike, who will show you how to do it.  We will be shooting low powered shot gun shells, and there isn't much "kick."  If you don't have a shotgun, it can be rented at the center.

RSVP Mike by Saturday, Sept 26, 9 PM.
