Notice
there are twelve basic categories of information that
everything falls into. Now, take a look at the box below
the page title at the top of the Site Info Page (and every
other page!) and notice the 12 labels. They are like
buttons. You can tell they are links because your cursor
changes to a pointing hand. When you click each link, you
are taken to a page for the category you select:
|
Example: Top right corner of
Website Information Page
à
At the top of each web page, look below the page
title…
à
…for “buttons” that are links
to the twelve main pages.
à Click to choose a category. |
 |
HOW DO
I FIND THIS STUFF?
These
twelve buttons lead to pages that contain information
relating to the selected topic, and links to other
relevant pages, sites or documents. Every feature of the
website can be reached from one of these twelve pages.
Once you know how to “navigate” these links, you can find
what you need on the site with just 2 or 3 clicks from the
Home Page!
WHERE
SHOULD I GO NEXT?
Did
you notice the “What’s New” link is highlighted in a red
background? That’s a hint. If you don’t visit any other
page after the Home Page, be sure you check here regularly
for the latest breaking news.
Next month, this article will take a closer look at the
kinds of headlines and other helpful links you will find
on the “What’s New” page. In future installments, we will
tour the remaining pages and share some tips and hints for
getting the most out of our website. Remember…IT’S YOUR
WEBSITE…we always invite your
comments and suggestions.

a link to their site for the month
of December. Club members are encouraged to visit the
Tall Chick Pajamas site and leave a message
for the owner. She would appreciate the feedback, not
to mention an order for some pajamas! If her ad on
our site generates some business for
Tall Chick Pajamas, she may continue to
sponsor our site! |

WHO
ELSE CAN ADVERTISE ON OUR WEBSITE?
Any
person or business with a tall-related product or service
that could benefit from exposure to the 1000-plus tall
visitors our site attracts each month for a very small fee
should
contact the webmaster for more information.
Two or three full-time sponsors would generate enough
funds to make the website self-sustained.
We have monthly rates and long-term discounts, plus
incentives for references. Members of the High
Cincinnatians can advertise on the site for a greatly
reduced rate (50% off!), get free ad design and are
guaranteed prominent placement.
WHAT
HAPPENED TO THE SERVER CHANGE?
We are
still looking at several possible alternatives to our
current pay-server. We will pay for another three months,
and continue to use them through March 2004. We expect to
have the site migrated to a new server by April1.
WHAT
ABOUT THOSE NEW FEATURES?
Paul
and I will try to meet during the next few months to begin
the design for our new site. Until we change servers, it
does not make any sense to try to introduce any new
“technology”, so we will hold off until late spring to
make any announcements. Upgrades will most likely take
place some time next summer.
Meanwhile, we have the secure online membership
application, which has been used more than once! And
we are working on setting up the online weekend
registration for the 2004 Fight Night Weekend. The
flyer is already posted on our website, and we have a
listing on the TCI Weekends website (some information is
incomplete pending weekend committee action).
